Description
Towards the end of the sardine campaign, when the coastal sardines disappear, the Vendée and Charente fishermen cruise towards the open ocean in search of new shoals, and this search leads them to the surroundings of the Rochebonne shelf. The Rochebonne shelf is located about 37 miles west of the Isle of Ré and 31 miles south of the Isle of Yeu. Sardines can be very numerous in these waters and especially in the area located East and North-East of the shelf.
