The COMOR scientific cruises are aimed mostly at assessing directly the king scallop stock in the Seine Bay (listed deposit) and in the area located north of the listed deposit, and baptised "Proche Extérieur" (Close Outside). The assessment is based on a stratified random sampling scheme, each dragging accounting for one sample unit. The collected data enables the valuation of the abundance indexes par age class and area, the biomass available on each area, the demographic structure of the population, and the distribution of the population on the seabed.
