Description
This text presents a review of the various technologies for exploitation of renewable marine energy resources. Il exposes the solutions offered by tide and currents, swell and waves, the marine wind energy, the Ocean Thermal Energy, the osmotic energy and specifies the various degrees of technological maturity for each solution. This new economic activity on the littoral and coastal areas also contains indirect effects in terms of management which are called back. The inter-tropical islands benefit from a very vast potential for the insertion of these renewable sources of energy in their mix of energy production. Although the exploitation of these energies is not still the object of a programming in New Caledonia, an overview of the specificities of the country allows to think that certain medium term solutions will be possible.
