Le littoral de la région Nord-Pas de Calais - Apports à la mer

Coming after a first report on the marine environment quality status of the Nord-Pas de Calais area, the present volume_ dea/s with the second objective of this regional coastal research programme i.e. identification and estimation of the contaminant fluxes to the sea. This original synthesis takes into account al/ the inputs, distinguishing point sources (jresh waters, urban sewage, industrial waste .. .) as weil as non point sources (atmospheric deposition, harbour dredging disposai, inputs from adjacent marine areas .. .). The data are issued from administrative monitoring, as weil as specifie research programmes. Atmospheric inputs are special/y detailed and can be compared with similar results coming jïom North Sea bordering countries. The final part of this volume tries to estimate the fluxes. Different methodologies are compared. A global evaluation concerns the main fluxes: fecal bacterial pollutions, particulate and organic matter and nutrients, chemical contaminants.
