Description
The feasability of the flat oyster Ostrea edulis culture development in the Languedoc-Roussillon Region has been studied at the Ifremer Station of Palavas, and aimed to diversify the cultured species and techniques commonly used in this region. Natural spat collection and the remote-setting technique were assessed as possible spat supply sources. The further steps of the cultivation cycle were carried out either on off-shore bottom culture facilities for nursery.
