Description
This paper concerns only extensive aquaculture in fresh water ponds, though the boundaries between extensive and intensive aquaculture are not always clear. Management with input of food is not taken into consideration but improvement of the quality or the quantity of natural productivity is treated The need of a period of intensive rearing before releasing juveniles from hatcheries is emphasized.
