Description
The Cayeux Bas-Champs, Picardy, are a coastal marsh area, sheltered from the sea by an evoluting pebble ridge (retreat at the older part, progradation at the distal end). A remarkable vegetal cover has found here an environment favouring its development and conservation. These Bas-Champs also constitute a station used in bird migrations. As several plans for recreation and touring have been put forward, it seems necessary to protect some biotopes of scientific interest. Proposals are made in this respect.
