Description
The recent upsettings of the Law of the sea deeply concern the United States whose maritime power is great and whose extended coasts are which of living and mineral resources. Their participation to the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea has therefore a considerable interest for them and for the international community. While difficulties oppose them to Third World countries, especially as far as the definition of the regime of exploitation of seabed resources beyond national jurisdiction is concerned and while the Conference is threatened with the American withdrawal which the American withdrawal which might lead to a failure, the studies contained in this publication should allow for a better understanding of the actions which will be taken by the White House.
