Description
During 1975, a number of rare fishes or caught out of their distr:ibution area were observed in La Rochelle, especially Chlamycloselachus anguineus Garman, 1884 (one specimen) Mitsukurina sp. (three specimens), Pseudotriakis microdon Capello, 1868 (five specimens), Somniosus sp. (one specimen), probably a new species, Zenopsis cO/1chîfer (Lowe, 1852) (one specimen) recorded for the first time from the French Atlantic coast, Puntazzo puntazzo (Gmelin, 1789) (one specimen), Hyperoglyphe percifonnîs (Mitchill, 1818) (one specimen), Glyptocephalus cynoglossus (Linné, 1758) (one specimen) caught off the coast of Vendée and Lima11da limanda (Linné, 1758) (one specimen) caught off the coast of Landes. On the other hand, the authors found two albino fishes and five specimens remarkable for their large size. They also observed nine species of fishes from the Bay of Biscay belonging to a colder fauna and eight species of fishes from the Bay of Biscay belonging to a hotter fauna. Not controlled OCR
