Facteurs contrôlant la croissance de Ruditapes philippinarum dans 4 nurseries de production en Charente-Maritime (France)

Different types of pregrowth of the Japanese palourde are compared on the some site. The method by upwelling which is the more common used, to have good growth, requires a compromise between the running and the raised biomass. Two periods are critical, in the summer the growth of mollusks is stopped because of a decrease in the phytoplanktonic production ; in the winter, a fall in temperature lessens filtration and stops growth. The results concern clams consummatation rates of particular food (chlorophyll, protids, lipids, glucids) as weIl as the way to supply the decreasing growth : increase of phytoplankyonic production in the summer by recycling waters from nurseries that are loaded with ammoniac and raise winter temperatures by using under-ground water.
