Description
Measurements of salinity by volontary observing ships are complementary of the measurements performed by the research vessels and represent a significant contribution to the global ocean observing networks. The Laboratoire de Physique des Océans (LPO) has tested four NKE-STPS sensors developped for the RECOPESCA project in collaboration with sailor Philippe Poupon. The sensors have been operating for 3 navigation seasons on board saling ship Fleur Australe. This reports synthesizes the informations related to the preparation, installation and checking of the sensors.
