Saint Pierre et Miquelon evaluation technique et economique des filieres aquacoles existantes

This document is meant to contribute technical and economic factors that make it possible to give an assessment of the experiments in salmon farming conducted on St Pierrre and Miquelon and to envisage strategies for the future. Before participating in a potential transfer of this activity to the professionals, IFREMER's Department of Living Resources requested the RA and SDA departments to conduct a study on salmon farming potential in the archipelago with regard to ecological, technical and economic constraints. By reason of the short time period, a certain number of points were not delved into; they could be the subjects of more in-depth studies by specialist organisations. The appendices to this document evaluate the history of the program (appendix I), the technical and biological constraints (appendix II) and finally the economic aspects (appendix III).
