REseau MOllusques des Rendements Aquacoles de l'huître creuse Crassostrea gigas sur les côtes françaises (REMORA). Résultats des stations nationales et régionales dans la lagune de Thau pour l'année 2002.

This report presents the main results for 2002 of the eight points in the Lagune de Thau, in accordance with the monitoring network REMORA: 3 national points and 5 regional added by the «Laboratoire Conchylicole de Méditerranée». Only adults batch is observed in the Mediterranean sea. This year the mortality ratio is low (< 5 %), without significant differences between areas. Like for the whole national network, the average individual weight are less than previous years in Bouzigues and Marseillan area ; in opposite Mèze area has better results. Bouzigues area presents the best productivity rate (3.1) and the worst in the middle of the zone. The AFNOR index, calculed in December, allows to classify the oysters like "spéciales". The best values are obtained on « Mèze large» and « Bouzigues large» points; « Bouzigues centre » is again at the bottom of the scale. The Polydora infestation doesn't have worrying values. The gelatinous chambering is in regression in the lagoon. However results stay important in Bouzigues area, particularly in front of Sète. This regional analysis points out some differences between the three production areas and the differences inside each area. The next analysis on regional points will allow to see more precisely the inter annual tendencies in the Lagune de Thau and also the variability values of the points inside each zone.
