Description
Accounting for species and site effects is important in biomass regression models. Model predictions correspond well with validation dataset (R2 = 0.96, p = < 0.001). The generic biomass equation for mangroves has potential for broad application. An estimated 5.4–7.2 megatonnes of AGB is currently held in Kenyan mangroves.
