Description
This survey is the result of the call for proposals by “France Filière Pêche” in 2012 which occurs in a difficult moment for the fishery sector. Fisher man had to reflect on more economical and selective activity. The aim of SOIP project is to combine digital simulation with data collected by sensor on trawling net. This is to optimize fishing operating to reduce energy consumption (without increasing fishing capacity). The project holder, F2DP, in aim to set boundaries, works with different partners as IFREMER, DEMK and AMOP, and takes on research analysts. Among the 25 trawlers which were part of the analysis: 28% of them didn’t set up optimally, 52% of them were optimally adjusted and for 20% of remaining one, the collected and simulated data were not representative. Even if a major part seems to work well, every trawler man presents a particular interest in installing sensor to have data about the fishing operating. This survey offers different observations as: compatible sensor is really important, trawling speed impact fuel consumption, size of some trawling net could be reduce to optimize the fishing operating, some four faces trawling net are not always the most appropriated (two faces could be enough) and in the end, it shows us that it is really important to create training tool to allow fisherman to have better control on technical aspects.
