Description
Zooplancton was sampled at Plogoff (in the northern part of the bay of Biscay) from April 1979 to march 1981, according to a fortnightly frequency from April to October. This paper presents the results obtained about the larvae of the edible crab (Cancer paqurus L.). For the two annual cycles considered, seasonal variations in abundance of zoeal and megaiopa stages were represented. Variations in abundance of the first zoeal stage permits us to specify the extend of hatching period in the area concerned. Comparison with data from Flamanville (west coast of Cotentin, English Channel) sets off the abundance of the area concerned. NOT CONTROLLED OCR
