Période d'éclosion et abondance des larves de crevette grise Crangon Crangon Linnaeus, 1758 et Manche et au sud de la Mer du Nord

Zooplancton has been sampled in the period 1975-1993, according to a monthly and even fortnightly frequency, in different areas between the south of the North Sea and south Brittany. Sampling was conducted during the whole year until 1983 and then, just on a part of the year. At the same time, water temperature and water salinity were measured. This paper presents variations of larval abundance and hatching time of brown shrimp species (Crangon crangon Linnaeus, 1758) according to the area. Special interest of this paper lies in the fact that it shows the existence of a spring peak of larvae in the south of the North Sea; this spring peak explains the large numbers of juvenile shrimps observed in this region in may and june by others authors.
