The ObsVentes program consists of periodically measuring the size of individuals of the main species landed at auctions or at specific landing points. This program contributes to the implementation of the multi-annual National Work Plan (NWP) for data collection under the European EU-MAP regulation (EU Regulation 2017/1004), also known as the Data Collection Framework (DCF). The ObsVentes program aims to produce size distributions of catches for the main commercial species to support stock assessments conducted by regional fisheries management organizations, as well as other scientific bodies such as the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES), in accordance with European Union international obligations, as well as national and regional requirements. The 2023 results of the ObsVentes program are available in the form of summary and individualized reports for each of the main participating auctions. These documents are produced by the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer) and made public to report on the data collected in 2023 by the providers of this program.
