In his work on the bream (Paf/ellus centrodonius'ï (1), Mr. R. Olivier gives the following figures on the gender proportionality in the breams: Females 60 % Males 30 % Hermaphrodites 10 %, which means that the bream normally is gonochoric, only 10 % of the individuals are hermaphrodites. And yet, on November 12th, 1927, at his request, I had provided the author with the following information: Out of 100 breams: 30 are functionally male, 60 are functionally female, and 10 have their sexual organs equally developed.
