Les variations de la situation thermique dans le Golfe de Gascogne et leur incidence sur l'ecologie et la peche de la sardine en 1968

The seasonal hydrological research started in 1967 in the Gulf of Gascony was continued in 1968. We will first of all introduce here the new results obtained, by comparing with the results of the preceding year and keeping only the differences that are sufficiently pronounced. Next, with the help of data from biometric observation of 2,000 sardines, we will try to establish the links that exist between ecological conditions and the sardine populations on which the catches were focused during the 1968 fishing season in order to attempt to explain the presence of almost exclusively of large-sized individuals throughout practically the entire campaign.
