Les ports de plaisance. Impacts sur le littoral

The increase in the number of marinas and the problems that they pose has prompted Ifremer to analyse the consequences of these structures on the coastal environment. This report reviews the impacts associated with the construction and the operation of marinas. Some simple measures are proposed to reduce the inconveniences and ensure the compatibility of pleasure boating with other traditional activities. Most of all, these measures seek to reconcile the existence of marinas with environmental protection. This report is intended, in particular, for spatial planners and those responsible for protecting the coastal environment: representatives of administrative bodies; national, local, county ("department") and regional governments; organisations and associations in charge of environmental conservation.
