Les pêches maritimes sur les cotes françaises de méditerranée - Actualité, perspectives

From a geographic point of view and its impact on marine fisheries, two different aspects of the French Mediterranean coast can be considered:- west of Marseille, the coasts are low, sandy, with a regular outline, and slowly go down into the sea where they form a continental platform whose surface is exceptional for the Mediterranean Sea; it is the Gulf of Lion and the numerous lagoons which surround it; - east of Marseille, the coasts are rocky, craggy, very irregular and overhang a similarly uneven seabed; they are the coasts of Provence and Corsica. Furthermore, the waters of the Gulf of Lion, contrary to those of the eastern coasts benefit from some important fluvial inputs, from the Rhône River for most of them, which favour their productivity.
