La contamination chimique de l'Adour, de la Nivelle, et de la Bidassoa : Bilan des observations du RNO matière vivante

On a quarterly basis, the National Monitoring Network (RNO) carries out a monitoring of the concentration levels of some contaminants in soft parts of mussels and oysters from the French shore. Hight levels of mercury have been identified in the mouth of the Nivelle, cadmium in the mouth of the Adour, and PCBs in the Nivelle and the Bidassoa, all sites located to the south of the French Atlantic coast. This report was written on request of the sub-prefecture of Bayonne, and presents the results of the RNO in this part of France, in a synthetic form.
