Description
Singlet oxygen (1O2) is detected in seawater by using tryptophan as interceptor. It is shown that its distribution varies according to the depth and the station, and is presumably correlated to dissolved and particulate matter contents of the water. 1O2 distribution in seawater may be considered as a new oceanographic parameter.
