Description
A yellowish mark of around 4 mm in diameter has been observed on the gill of a flat oyster from a batch in finishing process in a fattening pond (La Tremblade). With a magnifying glass, it has been described as a superficial necrosis of the gill. On the histological sections, we noticed that the gill structure was heavily disturbed: in the mark, several filament plicae had agglomerated in a compact mass joining the two gill sheets.
