Groupe de travail sur la biologie, la pêche et l'aquaculture potentielle des thons en Méditerranée-Sète (France) 9-11 mai 1978

The work group organized jointly by the C.N.E.X.O. (National Centre for the Exploitation of Oceans) and the Fisheries University of Tokyo in collaboration with the Sciences and Techniques University of Languedoc, brought together all the scientists interested in tuna aquaculture in the Mediterranean area. The different topics tackled during this symposium were: the study of the fisheries, the current state of the bluefin tuna biology and fishery in the Mediterranean Sea, the experiences and results of tuna aquaculture in Japan and Canada, the Mediterranean potential, as well as an attempt at setting up an international cooperative research programme on bluefin tuna farming in the western Mediterranean Sea.
