In a previous article published in the "cahiers Océanographiques" XXII, 1 (January 1970), pp. 25-32, I described the broad lines of subactual sedimentation in and around the canyon of Toulon. This data had been collected during a drilling cruise conducted in October 1967. Out of the 41 successful drillings, 17 had enabled the collection of rock samples representing, either the Maures basement in which the canyon of Toulon is cut, or more recent deposits, episodes of the eustatic or tectonic variations of the water level over the Quaternary and maybe the Pliocene era.
