Following observations on disparity in the growth of the Manila clam bred in the field, laboratory experiments were conducted to test the turbidity. This factor influenced the growth and mortality of Manila clam. The reproductive effort, growth and mortality of two populations were followed, one being cultivated in water with high levels on silt. A biochemical survey permitted the response to the effect of mineral particles to be estimated
