Distribution spatiale du mésozooplancton en Manche orientale et au sud de la Mer du Nord en relation avec les paramètres hydrobiologiques durant l'hiver 2008

This study was aimed to develop an image analysis procedure using ZooScan an dits dedicated softwares for routine treatment of mesozooplankton samples from winter IBTS (International Bottom Trawl Survey) and use this procedure in order to identify, characterize and cartography mesozooplanctonic communities range in eastern English Channel and in the southern North Sea. The learning set obtained with the threatment of samples from winter 2008 allows a good autimatical recognition (above 85%) for main mésozooplancton taxa (i. e. copepoda, malacostraca, ichthyoplankton, appendicularia, chaetognatha…) For a deeper specific identification, a validation procedure by a taxonomic expert is needed to improve and correct identification. The spatial distribution of five mésozooplancton assemblages was identified and characterized with indicator species, corresponding phytoplankton assemblages and hydrobiological parameters.
