The bluntnose sixgill shark is a shark which is easily recognizable through its six gill slits and the presence of a single dorsal fin with a posterior insertion. This shark cruises the waters of the Atlantic Ocean: to the West, it has been observed near Cuba; to the East, it cruises from the coasts of Mauritania, the Canaries and Madeira, to the Mediterranean Sea, the eastern entrance of the English Channel and more rarely in the North Sea.
