Contribution à l'étude des mécanismes de formation des marges continentales passives

Based on the geological and geophysical data on North-East Atlantic margins, the aim of this study is to define the directions of the extension of the different margin segments, and then to constrain the margin formation models in order to try and quantify the extension. The proposed scheme is to try and integrate the available geological and geophysical constraints, keeping in mind that the future data on the deep structure of the margins could quickly lead us to reconsider it. The first kinematical consequences of this scheme are examined. (unverified OCR)
