Chaetognathes et zooplancton du secteur atlantique marocain

The studies dealing with plankton in the Moroccan area are very rare and incomplete: works by Tattersall (1927) and Nouvel (l95I) on the Mysidacea, by L. Fage (1928) on the Cumacean, quantitative studies by Jespersen (1923, 1935). [...] A number of species belonging to the most diverse planktonic groups have been observed in the Moroccan area. But these collections are far from being completely studied, many of them are still spread out and no overall work has ever been undertaken. As no taxonomic exploration of this area has ever been undertaken, the Moroccan zooplankton constituted an almost new material. But we could not possibly make a general study out of it, even for research which stretched over several years. Thus, our observations have been limited to surface microplankton, the study of deep water forms being postponed. [...]
