Aquaculture et pêche dans les pays du Sud : analyse prospective 2025 de la demande en recherche

This document presents four years of work by an Ifremer's prospective group on the research demand in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture in southern countries by 2025. The study focused on a retrospective assessment of the scientific cooperations conducted by the Institute with southern countries over the past twenty-five years. It was followed by a classic prospective ana/ysis based on the method of scenarios, comp/eted bya research on a wide range of published documents. The analysis identified the most Frequent research demands in five geographic areas of the southern hemisphere. The relevant research themes where Ifremer should intervene as weil as geographic priorities were a/so defined. Two practical conclusions were formulated: on the one hand, drawing up an evaluation procedure of the proposais based on "Opportunity for /fremer intervention" in soufhern countries; on the other hand, a recommendation for the building of a permanent prospective unit in {fremer as other research organizations have done.
