Here we shall explore the actions that countries can take by including blue carbon ecosystems (BCEs) in management plans and strategies in order to operationalize commitments under international treaties on sustainable development and climate mitigation along with national and local needs to reduce vulnerability of coastal populations and infrastructure to changing environmental conditions and weather events.
